30. Home Made

Home Made is an innovative proptech startup that’s changing the way homes are let and managed

The property industry always seemed one that was ripe for disruption and, over the last few years, a wave of firms has come along to offer new ways of selling and buying properties. The most successful was hybrid estate agent Purplebricks (which claimed the top spot in the 2015 Startups 100), and Home Made is applying the same approach to lettings.

For the uninitiated, that means no physical branches and smart use of tech to ensure that homes are let faster and fees are lower than traditional agencies.

And the results speak for themselves – Home Made says that the average time to let a property is just eight days (compared with 21 days for a letting agent) and landlords save £2,300 per tenancy on average. Renters get 24/7 customer service and no tenancy renewal fees, a real sticking point for landlords and renters alike.

Since it was founded by Asaf Navot in 2017, Home Made has quickly become the largest hybrid lettings service in London and has convinced the big boys, signing up major European property funds like Greystar and Grainger PLC as clients.

Backed by venture capital investors, the company recently began its nationwide expansion – launching in Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol.

And, with even grander ambitions in the pipeline (expansion into continental Europe is planned for 2022), there’s every chance Home Made could match the achievements of its violet-tinged proptech forerunner.
