Britain’s 100 fastest-growing privately-owned tech businesses have been unveiled in the latest annual Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 – the index which ranks the country’s “industry defining” tech companies.

Based on the highest increase in sales over the last three years using year-on-year revenue figures compiled by Fast Track, the index named e-commerce tech developer Ve Interactive as the top fast-growth business for 2015 having scaled from £300,000 turnover year-end 2012 to £20.9m this year.

Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform Funding Circle, founded by Young Guns Andrew Mullinger, Samir Desai and James Meekings, ranked in fourth place with revenue growth of over 195%, while adtech start-up Affectv, founded by 2013 Young Gun Glen Calvert, and Startups 100 award-winning marketing firm Captify ranked among the top 25.

Startups 100-listed Zopa; the P2P loan site, and Young Gun-founded online collaboration software company Huddle also featured in the tech league table – ranked at 41 and 33 respectively.

Fast Track said the average tech business in the index had revenues of between £5m to £50m with annual growth of 40% to 300% over the last three years, had less than 200 staff, and was generally owned and ran by entrepreneurs.
