The climate crisis is something we can’t ignore, and plastic pollution has dangerously contributed to the problem. Kind Bag is a London-based and female-owned accessories company that’s doing its part to tackle the issue by revolutionising the way we think about, and manage, plastic waste.

Founded in 2019 by María Rodríguez, Kind Bag has since recovered and transformed over 4.5 million plastic bottles into reusable and stylish bags for the conscious consumer. The company mission is not only to minimise plastic waste, but to also empower people to live sustainably.

The products are kind to the planet, but Kind Bag passionately delivers on those same values behind the scenes, as well. “We donate 1% of our sales (whether we make profits or not) to four very deserving charitable organisations, via the platform Work For Good. We are always seeking ways to contribute more to the world and give back,” says Rodríguez. 

Alongside its charitable work, Kind Bag has also developed powerful partnerships, having collaborated with Oxfam and Whistles. The business has also been featured in recognisable stores such as Waterstones, Selfridges, and Anthropologie.

Recently, Kind Bag travelled overseas to North America, getting stocked by brands such as Free People, Francesca, and Bealls, and hopes to continue its international reach. “This expansion will support future sales growth, allow us to greatly increase the number of plastic bottles we rescue and increase the number of people who are onboard our mission.”

With its recycled, reusable, and ethically-produced bags – as well as eco-friendly packaging – Kind Bag is a real champion for the sustainability movement.
