Name: Alfie Deyes
Website: PointlessBlog (YouTube)
At 23 years of age, YouTube video blogger (vlogger) Alfie Deyes has already built an online empire.
Having launched his flagship YouTube channel PointlessBlog in 2009 while still at school, self-employed Deyes has now amassed over five million subscribers across his YouTube channels. His PointlessBlogGames and PointlessBlogVlogs boast an astounding one million and three million subscribers respectively.
Basing content on the PointlessBlog around viral challenges and games, Deyes’ social media reach isn’t limited to YouTube either. His Facebook page has attracted more than 1.5 million fans, while his Instagram account boasts close to five million followers.
Like any great entrepreneur of the digital age, Deyes hasn’t solely relied on his virtual presence to achieve success. He has already released two books, both of which came with extra downloadable content, and has launched his own line of PointlessBlog merchandise which includes everything from hoodies and hats to phone cases and jewellery.
One half of social media powerhouse ‘Zalfie” – Deyes is engaged to fellow Youtube vlogger and 2015 Young Entrepreneur to Watch Zoe ‘Zoella’ Sugg – Deyes and Sugg were forever immortalised in September 2015 when the world-famous Madame Tussauds created two wax models of the pair; an honour that only a handful of entrepreneurs can lay claim to.
And, while Deyes’ video viewership figures are staggering, they aren’t the only impressive numbers he commands.

According to YouTube analytics platform Social Blade, Deyes’ various vlogs earn him over £1m revenue per year – business success that originated from a teenage Deyes deciding to pick up the family camera during a holiday to talk about his life and broadcast it.
