Founder: Baris OzaydinliYear founded: 2021Website: scooch.petPets can’t tell us when something’s wrong, meaning millions of owners are left guessing what their furry friends need. Plus, among so many products, contradictory advice, and costly vet visits, actually finding the answers is much harder than it needs to be.Scooch founder Baris Ozaydinli experienced this first-hand when his dog struggled with recurring health issues. With a career in human wellness behind him, he soon spotted a gap in the market – personalised nutrition and preventative care for pets.It was at that moment when Scooch came to life – a subscription-based platform offering AI-powered animal healthcare through personalised health checks and care plans, and access to qualified vets for help and support. It also offers vet-formulated supplements, food, and treats to help with common issues like anxiety, itching, joint health, and anal gland problems.Breaking into a market already dominated by long-running pet food brands meant it was difficult for Scooch to gain credibility and trust. But by teaming up with institutions like Founders Factory and the University of Surrey, investing in research and development (R&D), and developing vet-approved products, the company was able to set itself apart, and successfully developed a platform pet owners could truly rely on.Now, Scooch has a lot to wag its tail about (not least climbing from 55th to 39th place in our Index this year). After winning the AI Startup of the Year UK & London Award in 2024, the brand was also featured across signage at 500 bus stops across London. The awards, says Ozaydinli, “validated Scooch not only as a pet brand but as a technology company transforming pet health.” Award wins validated Scooch not only as a pet brand but as a technology company transforming pet health. Since then Ozaydinli has also been selected as a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneurship Awards, and Scooch was a finalist for the Best EIS Investee Company at the 2025 EISA (Enterprise Investment Scheme Association) Awards.Scooch aims to be the go-to support system for pet parents – mixing science, tech, and genuine care that makes a real impact on pet wellbeing, while helping to cut down on avoidable health problems.View the full Startups 100 Index for 20261.
