Spiralling costs, shady practices and projects that go way over deadline. It can seem like a case of when, not if, these will happen when taking on any major renovation project. Well, Beams Renovation is here to make sure it’s a case of never again.

Founder Hayden Wood had to suffer through renovation hell, not once but twice. As a homeowner, he was frustrated by the opaque and fractured process of getting building work done. No clear answers, together with a laboriously drawn out process, led him to ask: why isn’t there a better way to renovate?

Now there is a better way, and that better way is Beams Renovation. The company only uses vetted builders, and utilises data to set realistic budgets.

Wood also understands that it’s a tale of two sides. Homeowners are often left frustrated, but competent builders are also frequently saddled with unrealistic briefs, expectations and admin overload.

Beams Renovation keeps both sides happy, by, in the words of its founder, giving “homeowners clarity from day one, and giving builders the steady, well-scoped projects they need to do their best work.”

It also eliminates the key issue with most renovation platforms: they’re lead-gen focused. This often leaves homeowners in the dark, whereas Beams offers an end-to-end solution. It’ll take homeowners all the way from the planning stage through to project completion.

Beams Renovation has a proprietary pricing engine which compares each project against thousands of previous renovations, giving homeowners a clear picture of what to expect. The company also minimises stress by locking-in quotes from the outset, with prices agreed upfront.

Beams Renovation also understands it needs to build trust to avoid being yet another “middleman”. It started small, working with closely-trusted builders and a handful of customers. Today, the firm has helped over 200 happy Londoners achieve the renovation of their dreams.

This slow and steady approach has paid off for Beams Renovation. In 2025, it raised an impressive $9m in Series A funding, led by ETF Partners. While currently focused on London, in five years’ time, Beams Renovation wants to be the go-to platform for home renovation across the UK and Europe. It’s clear that the business is building something special.
